Only one man knows the whereabouts of gold and the army sends captain Matt Martin to arrest him and come back with the gold. Martin reluctantly agrees but plans to ditch her at the first opportunity. . The Apaches, outlaws and storms will make it not too easy. This is the type of role that fit her skill set.
It is reasonably entertaining, but it is by no means a classic western. Civil War, some Southern rebels steal a Union shipment of gold and bury it in a cave outside of Phantom Hill, Texas. Fuller is in command of group and has a determined air about all he does. He insists that they take a prostitute, Memphis Jocelyn Lane , with them to Santa Fe. Meanwhile, the weaponless Union soldiers face the Comanche again and only the Union leader and one other escape alive.

I am not sure of the completion date, but my guess is that it was completed by summer 1965. Martin talks their way out of the jam, saying that they are leaving quickly for Santa Fe, but the sheriff throws them a curve ball. Based on things that I've read, it sounds like she was quite a character.

I'll leave it at that in order to avoid spoilers, other than to say that Memphis starts out bad, but ends up being good the typical cliched prostitute role in a western. Both Union and rebel forces struggle to find it while threatened by the Comanche. Adventure Western At the end of the Civil War, a major shipment of gold has been stolen and buried in the desert. However, story is peppered with enough visual excitement to hold attention. Incident at Phantom Hill, an Earl Bellamy-directed western for Universal, is the story of a million-dollar shipment of Union gold that was stolen by a group of Confederate soldiers in the closing weeks of the Civil War in Texas. Jocelyn fans, however, should definitely make a point to see this one. He locates the gold and falls in love with the Union leader's girlfriend. Now, in order to avoid going back to prison, he has agreed to lead a group of soldiers to the gold's location.
After the war, Joe Barlow Dan Duryea is the only surviving member of the group that stole the gold. The rebel outlaw gets the two soldiers who are guarding him drunk, kills them, and escapes taking all the Union soldiers' weapons with him. Therefore, a group of soldiers will have to make the trek in plain clothes and off-the-record. Romance with Miss Lane is strangely elusive and this is one of those pix where there are no clinches. Eventually, they mussed her hair up a bit for the viewers wondering how she could look so good after spending days in the desert. The story involves a Union gold shipment is stolen and buried in the desert. She looks as lovely as ever, and her acting is adequate for the part.
