They do not get imported in traktor. But even then, once you start dropping three or four tunes together and adding effects, samples and so on, tightly beatgridded loops are kind of essential.
Find the first kick of the track and add a grid marker cue point to see if this helps. Thanks for the kind words Chad! At least that is how mine is. After going almost mad with not appearing cue points, many troubleshooting etc etc I found a solution that worked for me. I also wouldn't of upgraded if I knew ver 7 had so many problems with importing cue points and cue points not aligned properly on the grid. The bpm is right but the beat markers get placed on every single hit and in areas where there are no drums there are no beat markers! Would a possible solution be just don't overwrite cue points designated as 'Grid'? Even this track doesnt seem to be a problem, i just wanted to see if i was doing it right. When you try to align the track so that the vertical bar on the grid lines up with the actual beat it it's different to the default grid on all the other tracks.
The concept is sound but the problem I'm seeing now with Traktor is: If the beatgrid is not perfect which is frequently if you've got an ear for it , you have to manually adjust it. I always prepare my tracks in rekordbox and then import to rekordbuddy and the export to traktor. Since there is so much good discussion here I'm making this a sticky post. I have tried this and it sounds off, not fluid. They are not always correct because of the start point or the fluctuation of the bpm. Opened a file, and noticed that the cue points and grid are off.
It really seems like it was related to the songs since it was the only time it happened. Congratulations you now have analyzed files in Traktor with Mixed in Key Cue points. Ofcourse you don't have to beatgrid then. Life is way too short to waste time policing comments. This would be the icing on the cake. It happens to all file types. I find that ableton warping, though time consuming, is much more accurate. Traktors check consistency has never 100% worked for me. Any chance this will be looked at otherwise this will not be useful. The cue points in Traktor do not work unless you use the default directory which will not work for me either. I now think its possible as its an edit that the track tempo either moves or that the edits were slightly off beat, so as you go through the track, no amount of correction will keep it in sync the whole way through. Older tracks, tracks with live drumming and vinyl rips are just some examples of the kinds of tunes that you might not be able to drop a grid on. If it is a fundamental flaw in the algorithm that we use to decide where to place cue points then we would need a lot more files as we would have to do statistical analysis to find a solution. If you were able to have Traktor analyze the song, set a auto beat grid, let the user fine tune the grid 1. I love it so thought i'd be a care bear and share. It will mean that effects will be quantized, and other tracks will sync properly after the new grid marker. As for getting MiK to analyze the tracks based on the existing beatgrid. My cue points are present in traktor. This could be an opportunity to rethink that process. Or how about on 3 turntables and vinyl? Is this just for Mac? Just curious what led to picking Traktor. You can change the position of the markers and the gaps between them but everything you do will be applied to the entire track. Now if I can only get my hair to grow back where it was pulled out in the process. We'd like to check it out on our end. More example files couldn't hurt.
