Since 2009, these bohunks have gleefully doffed their clothes each year to engage in all sorts of self-consciously free-spirited antics — and raise thousands of dollars for charity, too. Bizarrely, Google were a lot more relaxed only a few days ago when the Warwick Rowers reported that a Google user was illegally sharing their charity fundraising content.
Although a long-standing and significant donor to the rowing programme at Warwick University, Warwick Rowers functions completely independently of the University of Warwick, Warwick Sport and Warwick Student Union. The organisation grew directly out of the success of the Warwick Rowers calendar, inspired by the public response to its straight allies against homophobia message. Google twice rejected the Warwick Rowers appeal for help, before shutting up shop for the weekend with the content still available, and did not manage to respond effectively until after the rowers threatened legal action against the corporation. In addition to the calendar itself, though, the rowers have also taken to filming their photo shoots, much to the pleasure of their gay fans.
